Press Release 14/08/2024: Evitat and Global GreenTag Partnership Announcement

Global GreenTag International moves to support sustainable aims of home builders with Evitat Australia With a shared focus on supporting the needs of residential builders and renovators and developing a greener and healthier built environment, Global GreenTag International and Evitat Australia are undertaking a series of projects together under a new collaborative agreement between the two organisations. Global GreenTag is a third-party certification body that assesses products for all aspects of impacts on human health, ethical labour supply and the environment. Evitat Australia operates a Direct-to-Consumer platform powered by AI to provide a transparent source on sustainability in the global home improvement market.  The two parties are now ready to proceed and expand on what they can offer to their client bases.

Global GreenTag’s CEO and Technical Director David Baggs said:  “We are excited to move forward with Evitat to bring our presence further into the home renovation market.  We are embarking on a number of projects together and the first will be to connect our product database to the Evitat platform, which will further help represent our family of manufacturers and bring over 16,000 certified, declared or verified products to the attention of subscribers doing product research on Evitat in Australia and globally.    Although GreenTag mainly services the product certification needs of larger commercial and government projects working with different green building rating tools, GreenTag receives many enquiries every month, by phone and email from people who are doing their own projects, ranging from new home builds to home renovation projects.

“Joining with Evitat and integrating GreenTag certified materials into Evitat’s renovation data platform, through a free-to-use API interface, is going to be a brilliant support for us and our clients,” David adds.

Intentionally, he says, these callers are seeking specific products and turn to GreenTag because it provides independent, product assessments and they want to know more before they invest.

Sonja Markovic, Co-founder and CEO of Evitat said: "Joining forces with Global GreenTag International, Evitat is excited to expand our impact on healthy, low-carbon residential renovation and design choices. This collaboration enriches how the built community navigates, filters, and selects conscious, sustainable material choices, amplifying our commitment to trust and transparency with measurable outcomes. It's an exciting milestone in our mission to build a strong ecosystem and turn renovation choices into bold climate actions!"

Evitat Australia and Global GreenTag International have committed to work together over the next five years on other relevant projects, which will include promoting the use of evidence-based use of sustainable building materials in residential construction and renovation, including: - Providing projects with access to a network of approved suppliers and choices whose green product claims are backed with accreditations that provide assurance of how they are helping to improve the health of the environment, of humans and all living systems. - Giving builders information and the opportunity to track and measure the impacts of their projects, understanding the sustainability criteria of the materials they choose to work with to achieve aims, including the reduction of carbon impacts and improvement of energy efficiency.
